Beware the true motivation behind self help advice!
A man's printer was beginning to fade it's type, so the local repairer was contacted. A friendly shop assistant informed the man that the printer probably only needed a good clean.
The sales assistant then explained to the man that it would cost him $50 if they performed the service and that he was better off reading the manual and doing the job himself!
Surprised by the shop assistant's candour, the man asked, "Does your boss know that you discourage business?"
"Actually, it was my boss's idea," he replied sheepishly. "We usually make more money on repairs if we let people try to fix things themselves first!"
